Elaine_HelmsElaine Helms – Founder of Church Prayer Ministries

Elaine Helms, the founder and director of Church Prayer Ministries, is a respected author, speaker, and teacher. She was the National Prayer Coordinator for Southern Baptists, on the staff of the North American Mission Board for ten years. While there, she was the facilitator of the SBC national and state convention prayer leaders network—PrayerLink, spoke frequently at state, city, and church prayer conferences, and wrote widely-read prayer publications, including the Prayer Connection, to assist local church prayer coordinators.

Elaine is on the executive board of the Denominational Prayer Leaders Network and represents Southern Baptists on the National Prayer Committee. She served as the President of Christian Women United, the women’s track of Mission America, and as the Prayer Chair of Quest Atlanta ’96 preparing for the World Olympics from 1991-96. During that time, she was the prayer ministry coordinator on the staff of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, and the prayer coordinator for Noonday Association, of 100 churches, in Atlanta for 12 years. The many opportunities, she has had to train intercessors, speak at churches, city, and state conferences, have given her firsthand knowledge of what prayer leaders and intercessors want and need to know to be effective in prayer.

She continues to write, and travel across the US and internationally, speaking and teaching on prayer as God leads. It is her passion to share what God has taught and is teaching her to edify and equip believers for spiritual maturity and to build up the body of Christ for His glory.
